Recently we completed a half day workshop looking at re-invigorating classroom methods for 14 teachers at the Shenzhen Korean International School. Participants from Australia, Phillipines, Canada, England, China and Korea, representing all subject areas engaged in a range of strategies aimed at raising awareness of learning styles, brain-based learning and a brief introduction to assessment/evaluation strategies .Time was also devoted to looking at striking a better balance between teaching and learning and discussion had about ways students can be made more accountable for their learning.
Participants were very happy with the time spent and have asked that we return soon for a more comprehensive look at these issues. Some of the participants are also expected to enrol in our excellent Train the Teacher workshop which has be tentatively scheduled for mid year.
